Places in the Cave-es
Dark nights, me and Precious,
Catching fishes very late,
Hunting tasties with precision,
Under rocks and slippery things,
Searching all the best spots,
Hollers, holes, and caves,
Secret places, squishy spaces,
Fishes for us to eats,
There’s magic in the stillness,
Where frogs and fishes splash,
There’s places in the caves-es,
For hiding precious snacks,
Swirling round the darkness,
Round tips of sunken brush,
Stories told by brothers,
Big fishes like a bus,
Swimming in the stillness,
In the frogs’ and fishes’ spots,
Are the bones-es and the corpses,
In caves-es Precious loved,
There’s magic in the stillness,
Where frogs and fishes splash,
There’s places in the caves-es,
For hiding precious snacks,
My Precious whispers darkness,
Is best for hiding things,
Like memories of lost loves,
And crunchy, tasty bones,
I remember still my brothers,
Making mountain-water drinks,
And the only corn worth growing,
They made in moonshine stills,
Nights-es they made blazes,
In this, their secret place,
Distilling their clear waters,
Into magic drinks,
There’s magic in the stillness,
Where frogs and fishes splash,
There’s places in the caves-es,
For hiding precious snacks.
